Overcome The Breakup Blues With Exercise

The heart is funniest above all things. When feelings are involved, majority of people will be so affected that the rest of the day will turn out ruined. This is why anyone would be most affected when there are problems in his relationships. How does one bounce back from a breakup with the person you have loved with all your heart? Will you find it possible to go on with life without him or her? You may have invested your whole life in him or her, only to have the door slammed in your face! What should you do now? All you want to do is stay in a dark room watching films while stuffing your face with sweets and junk food. Do you know that working out can help you deal with your heavy feelings?

Getting active may be the least possible thing you are imagining in the midst of a breakup. After all, who is there to look slim and fit for? And of course, you are in no rush to get into another relationship tangle. But exercise does more than just make you look good. It actually makes you feel good, too, literally. Working out calls for the production of endorphins, or happy hormones which do just that, make you feel happy. Scientific research shows these hormones giving out a feeling of happiness. This is why many experts would tell depressed people to add exercise into their weekly schedule. Studies show how depressed people who exercised showed positive results similar to those that took antidepressants.

Next, exercising will give you something to focus your mind on. The worst thing to do in the aftermath of a breakup is to drown yourself minute after minute in painful memories of past happy times. Of course, you might want to do nothing else but that over the first week. But after the first week, it can get very heavy and super tiring. Getting started with a workout program will give you a new target to aspire for. Focusing your mind on something else can help do wonders to your aching heart.

Lastly, working out at the local health club will mean you get to spend time with other people. It's not saying that you should go out right away and meet the next guy to date. But sometimes it might be a good thing to get to know other people or just spend time surrounded by new faces to explore. Of course, the intention is not to replace the person you've lost, but simply to fill up your time with new relationships. See this as merely a way to get yourself occupied to keep from wallowing in your sorrow.
