Leg Toning Exercises

Everyone wants to see their workout's results from head to toe. But we sometimes neglect to get our legs in shape because we think that all the walking we do on a daily basis is doing the job. Although that's true, it will not give you more defined legs. It's easy to tone your legs and the great thing about it is that when you are doing it, you get to workout the rest of your lower body.

The reason why cardio exercises are great with giving you toned legs is that most of the exercise involve you using them. Running, walking and biking all involve getting your legs to work. Because it also helps lose weight on your lower body, you can use cardio to tone your legs. You need to do exercises that focus on your lower body to build and tone your leg muscles though if you really want to tone your legs.
There are a lot of workout you can choose from that are effective in toning your legs. You can do them by yourself or with the help of an equipment. One exercise that's easy and you can do at home is the circle one leg. You first need to lie down and raise one leg to the ceiling. Arc your left leg while you're inhaling and circle it down while you exhale and then bring it back to the center. Do this 3 times clockwise and 3 counter clockwise on each leg. Inner thigh lifts are also a good choice since it targets your thighs too. You can do this by lying down on your side and maintaining a straight line with your body. Bend your right leg so you can put your right foot on your left thigh. Hold your right ankle and raise your left leg a few inches and keep this position for about 3 seconds then lower your leg. You can do a few more then switch sides. Side kicks are a great way to get your legs toned too. You just have to lie down in the same position as with the inner thigh lift. Kick to your side using your free leg and lower it down slowly. Keep your body in a straight line all the time. You may do this a few more times too before switching sides. Squats and lunges are some other options for you to tone your lower body.

Diet is an important component of getting your legs, and the rest of your body, toned. If you are carrying some extra weight, you will see the results of the exercise that you are doing. A healthy diet always goes hand in hand with exercise in giving you that body you want.

You will get those legs you dream of with these tips. Just remember that if your workout starts feeling easy, start making it more difficult to keep those toned legs.
