Fitting Fitness Into Your Routines

People often say they have no time to work out. You just need to make time for fitness, though, no matter what, because it is so important to your health and well being. You must fit fitness into your life in any way you can. It is up to you to make an effort and to incorporate this into your lifestyle for the long term. You will also gain an entire lifetime of health advantages from this.

Try to set your workout schedule first thing in the morning upon waking up, if at all possible. If you must, wake up an hour earlier than usual for this. With this schedule you get the advantage of ensuring that your workout is accomplished even before you do anything else. Because your body has been refreshed by a full night's rest it is ready to properly meet the challenges of any workout. Note that the effectiveness of your exercises is greatly affected by the quality of your performance. Cardio workouts done before breakfast make you burn more fat. Because it has just come from an overnight fast, your body has no glycogen stores to burn. Your body will have to use fat for fuel. Your metabolic rate is also raised for the rest of the day by the afterburn produced by the early morning workout. Fat will, therefore, be burned by your body for the whole day.

If it cannot be done in the morning, your workout can be done at night before bedtime. When working out at night, you must be sure to stop eating three hours before the start of your workout. You should not have any undigested food in your system while you are working out. Your body can burn fat better if you have less available glycogen to burn. Use the last waking hour of your day more productively by making it count in your fitness program.

By choosing to be as active as possible all throughout your day in addition to your morning or late night workout, you can make sure that you keep your metabolism up. Some of the many simple changes you can make to your usual routine are choosing to stand instead of sitting down, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, and walking instead of driving to your destination.

Fix your schedule and your daily routine so that you can allot a regular time slot for your fitness workouts. You can do this first thing in the morning or as your last activity of the night. In either case, make sure you support your day long metabolism by keeping yourself active in every way you can, even while doing the simplest tasks. By consciously integrating movement and fitness into your day to day activities, you can keep yourself fit for life.
